Investing for Good

Presented by Hannah Boundy, CFA®, CFP®

Investing for Good

Hannah will be sharing her thoughts on socially responsible business practices and why businesses who seek to do good are gaining a greater presence in both consumer purchasing patterns and in the financial markets. She'll offer her take on what it means to be a socially responsible firm and as well as how Sherwood Financial Partners is taking steps of our own to join the ranks of companies seeking to do better business for their customers, employees, and the world at large. About the Presenter: Hannah was born and raised in Arvada, Colorado, where she spent the early years of her life before moving to Southern California to study at Pepperdine University. During her time there, she had the unique opportunity to research stakeholder theory and behavioral finance – both areas of finance that influence her today. Hannah graduated Magna Cum Laude from Pepperdine with a Bachelor of Science in international business and a minor in accounting. Following graduation, she went to work alongside Matthew Davis as a trader and analyst at Manchester Financial. Eventually, she found herself assisting in the financial planning aspects of the business and when the opportunity presented itself to continue working with Matthew and another colleague at Cedarstone Advisors, she took it. While there, she shifted her focus to the operational aspects of wealth management, gaining valuable insights into the day to day workings of a small business. On the side, she continued to learn, acquiring the CFA® designation and publishing the book A Gal's Guide to Personal Finance. In the summer of 2019, she seized upon an opportunity to build a firm committed to serving the whole client, co-founding Sherwood Financial Partners with Matthew. She is also the founder of the women's financial blog Lovely Abundance, and continues to research and write, currently focusing on the intersection between wealth and well-being. Today, she lives once again in Arvada with her husband, son, and daughter and is currently pursuing her MBA through the University of Michigan. She enjoys curling up with a good book, cooking delicious food for friends, and watching her inquisitive children learn and grow. She is not a Dodgers fan. hannah.boundy@sherwoodfp.com 720.439.6886

Navigating the Markets

Our founder, Matthew Davis, shares our latest thoughts on the current state of the financial markets as well as how we have positioned ourselves to weather potential risks on the horizon. We'll discuss current market valuations, the present state of the economy, and revisit portfolio fundamentals. About the Presenter: Matthew grew up in Texas and Indiana before his family eventually settled in Malibu, California. There he attended Oaks Christian High School, then moved once again to Texas to study at Abilene Christian University, where he was a student manager of the university’s endowment, eventually graduating Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance. Following college, he went to work as a portfolio manager at Manchester Financial. While there, he stumbled into financial planning and quickly found a passion for connecting the analytical elements of investing with the personal aspects of planning. In 2014 he left Manchester Financial to join Cedarstone Advisors as a senior advisor. There he was responsible for managing client relationships and building out systems. During his time there, he obtained a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in financial planning from California Lutheran University. It soon became clear that he had a unique vision for offering a holistic way of viewing financial planning – one that took care of the whole client. In July of 2019, Matthew co-founded Sherwood Financial Partners with Hannah Boundy with the goal of creating a client-centric firm built on the knowledge, skills, and vision he had obtained in previous roles. He currently resides in Thousand Oaks with his wife Jodi and their two dogs. He is an avid Dodgers and Lakers fan. matthew.davis@sherwoodfp.com 805.715.3913
