Hannah was born and raised in Arvada, Colorado, where she spent the early years of her life before moving to Southern California to study at Pepperdine University. During her time there, she had the unique opportunity to research stakeholder theory and behavioral finance – both areas of finance that influence her today. Hannah graduated Magna Cum Laude from Pepperdine with a Bachelor of Science in international business and a minor in accounting.
Following graduation, she went to work alongside Matthew Davis as a trader and analyst at Manchester Financial. Eventually, she found herself assisting in the financial planning aspects of the business. When the opportunity presented itself to continue working with Matthew and another colleague at Cedarstone Advisors, she took it. While there, she shifted her focus to the operational aspects of wealth management, gaining valuable insights into the day-to-day workings of a small business. On the side, she continued to learn, acquiring the CFA® designation and publishing the book, A Gal's Guide to Personal Finance.
In the summer of 2019, she seized the opportunity to build a firm committed to serving the whole client, co-founding Sherwood Financial Partners with Matthew. She has written several financial blogs and continues to research and write, currently focusing on the intersection between wealth and well-being. In 2024 she earned her MBA from the University of Michigan, where she graduated with High Distinction (Go Blue!).
She is actively involved in several philanthropic and educational organizations and is passionate about making education widely accessible as a means to helping communities thrive. She currently serves on the Business Advisory Council of Pepperdine University's Seaver College, on the Board of Directors for Dry Bones, and as an advisor to The Haven Impact. Today, she lives once again in Arvada with her husband, son, and two daughters. Hannah enjoys curling up with a good book, cooking delicious food for friends, and watching her inquisitive children learn and grow.
"I love what I do because it allows me to creatively and meaningfully help others pursue and steward the things they value with their resources. In the process, I have the great privilege of seeing wonderful legacies built and lives well lived and I cherish that aspect of my work."
